Object history
Deutsch: Der Abtstab, ein Attribut des heiligen Benedikt, verweist auf den Kirchenpatron von Postmünster und stellt zugleich einen Bezug zum Ortsnamengrundwort -münster her. In Postmünster bestand im frühen Mittelalter ein Kloster, von dem der Ortsname hergeleitet ist. Die Getreideähren sind ein heraldisches Landwirtschaftssymbol und unterstreichen die traditionell landwirtschaftliche Ausrichtung des Gemeindegebiets. Die Wellenleisten, ein Wassersymbol, beziehen sich auf den um 1970 angelegten Rottauensee, der sich mit seiner Umgebung zum bedeutendsten Freizeit- und Erholungsgebiet im Rottal entwickelte.
