Deutsch: Die Gemeinde, seit eh und je einer der wichtigsten Weinbauorte am Mittelrhein, woran die Traube erinnert, gehörte seit dem frühen Mittelalter zu dem umfangreichen Reichsgutkomplex im Trechirgau. Der schwarze Adler soll ebenso hieran erinnern wie auch an die preußische Zeit 1816 - 1945. Schon früh erlangte das entfernte Bistum Toul Grundbesitz in Oberheimbach, der 1060 an das Kloster Cornelimünster (Inden) gelangte und von diesem 1270 an das Mainzer Kloster Maria ad gradus. Diese dreifache kirchliche Herrschaft wird durch die drei übereinander stehenden Mitren ausgedrückt. Ein ursprünglich noch vorgesehenes Mainzer Rad wurde durch die Traube ersetzt. |
