Object history
English: The arms were granted on May 21, 1974. The chief shows the lion of the Hohenstaufen dynasty, Dukes of Swabia, former rulers of the area until 1269. The crozier symbolises the many monasteries in the district and the minor tools stand for pitch coal mining in Penzberg and Peißenberg.
