Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Kriegsheim seit 1969 Ortsteil von Monsheim: „In Silber (Weiß) vier schwarze Balken in Zwillingsanordnung, im rechten Obereck eine schwarze Krähe.“
Das Wappen ist mit Urkunden des hessischen Ministers des Innern am 26. Mai 1931 verliehen worden. Es entstammt einem Gerichtssiegel welches seit 1561 nachgewiesen ist. Der Ort hieß ursprünglich Kreikes- bzw. Criegisheim und wird von "Krähe" abgeleitet. Es handelt sich demnach um ein redendes Wappen. Ob die Balken dem Wappen der ortsadligen Herren von Kriegsheim entstammen ist nicht nachgewiesen. English: „Argent, two bar gemelles sable, in the right canton a raven sable.“ The arms are derived from a seal of from 1561; the bar gemelles may be derived from the Lords of Kriegsheim, but it is not mentioned. The raven is canting. "Kriegsheim" ist derived from Kreikes- bzw. Criegisheim, that means "raven". |
