Object history

Deutsch: Das Wappen verbindet die redenden Kleeblätter für Kleve mit dem alten landesherrlichen Zeichen der Grafen. Das Wappen basiert auf mittelalterliche Siegel. Die heutige Tingierung ist seit 1614 bekannt.

English: The red shield with a white inescutcheon belongs to the counts of Kleve. The clover leaves are canting: (klever = clever = clover). This pattern is known from seals at least since 1529.
