Object history
Deutsch: Das Höchster Wappen zeigt ein silbernes Rad mit sechs regelmäßig angeordneten, verschnörkelten Speichen auf rotem Grund. Sowohl auf dem Radkranz als auch der Nabe sitzt am Ende jeder Speiche je ein Nagel. Auf früheren Abbildungen des Wappens sind die Nägel nicht enthalten. Höchst war zwischen 790 und 1802 gut 1000 Jahre Teil des Herrschaftsgebiets des Erzbistums Mainz. Wie bei vielen Orten, die zu Kurmainz gehörten, leitet sich auch das Höchster Wappen vom Mainzer Rad ab.
