Deutsch: Der Gemeinde ist mit Urkunde des Innenministers des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen in Düsseldorf vom 17.04.1956 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens, eines Siegels und einer Flagge verliehen worden. „Im blauem Feld zwei silberne (weiße) Balken, deren unterem ein goldenes (gelbes) Hünengrab aufsitzt.“ Dem Gemeindewappen wurde das Wappen der Herren von Heiden - in Silber drei blaue Balken - zu Grunde gelegt. An Stelle des dritten Balkens erinnert das jungzeitliche Großsteingrab "Teufelsteene" an die Besiedlung und Bedeutung des Ortes in vorgeschichtlicher Zeit.
English: „The arms were granted on April 17, 1956. The two bars are derived from the arms of the medieval Lords of Heiden. Instead of the third bar in the original arms a monolithic prehistoric grave was added. The local grave symbolises the prehistoric inhabitation of the area.“
