English: BUILT IN 1823; TABUE WAS THE GRANDSON OF A FRENCH HUGUENOT. TRABUE WITNESSED THE SURRENDER AT YORKTOWN BUT RETURNED TO HIS FAMILY IN KENTUCKY WHERE HE FOUNDED COLUMBIA. HE LIVED HERE UNTIL 1831 AND DIED IN 1840. THE RUSSEL FAMILY ACQUIRED THE HOUSE AND THAT FAMILY LIVED IN IT FOR OVER A 100 YEARS. TABUE IS WELL KNOWN FOR A NARRATIVE HE WROTE CALLED “WESTWARD INTO KENTUCKY” WHICH IS HISTORICALLY ACCURATE ON THE EVENTS OF THE SETTLEMENT OF KENTUCKY
