Summary

Description
English: Cartoon published in Vieaţa, a liberal and neoromantic magazine edited by poet Alexandru Vlahuţă, as D-l Delavrancea are cuvîntul ("Mr. Delavrancea Takes the Stand"). Writer-parliamentarian Barbu Ştefănescu Delavrancea, hassled by barking dogs (figurative of small game politicians), pounds on a high striker: the hammer is set to fall on the head of Conservative leader Titu Maiorescu, but the intended target, pictured at the top, is King Carol I of Romania.
