English: Up platform of Custom House (Victoria Dock) station, 1983. View southward, across the original ex-GE station on the Stratford - North Woolwich line, former junction for the Port of London Authority lines (closed 8/9/40 in the Blitz). From 29/3/94 it was to become a Dockland Light Railway station, radically rebuilt. Here we have a typical crowd of strangely-dressed (at the time) people returning from speed-boat races on the Royal Victoria Dock. |
