Summary

Description

There may have been no cup after yesterdays All-Ireland match but there is no shortage of them here! A fine display of pottery and that lovely, old and now rarely used word, "Delph", reminding us of a town in Holland.

With thanks in particular today to everyone, including [/photos/gnmcauley/ Niall McAuley], [/photos/91549360@N03/ O Mac] and [/photos/beachcomberaustralia/ beachcomber], there seems to be a solid consensus, supported by circumstantial and documentary evidence, that this Mason image was related to a display at the 1907 Irish International Exhibition. An exhibition we've visited before. Perhaps the most telling clues are the contemporary news article (catalogued by our friends in the National Library of Australia), that beachcomber highlights, and which seems to paraphrase the signage we see in this image, and the contemporary guidebook which [/photos/129555378@N07/ sharon.corbet] mentions below....
