Cortinarius aureofulvus M.M. Moser

Image location: Salt Point State Park, Sonoma Co., California, USA

Growing in mixed woods, primarily tanoak and Madrone. Caps up to 8.3 cm across and viscid. Spores ~ 9.2-12.0 X 5.7-7.0(7.9) microns, ellipsoid to elongate(Qavg = 1.61), and rough. KOH on cap was slowly pinkish; neg. on flesh and stem. Perhaps something near Cortinarius aureofulvus?
