DescriptionCort Henry Schnackenberg with wife Amy Walsall Schnackenberg.jpg
English: Cort Henry Schnackenberg (1812–1880) served as a catechist for Rev. John Whiteley at the Te Mahoe Mission Station in Mokau, NZ. He married the widow Amy Walsall nee Trappitt (1799–1863) in 1843. Amy had a daughter from her previous marriage who was aged 19 at the time (Mary Emily Walsall later Turton). Amy died at the Ahuahu Mission Station (aka Lemon Point or Te Waitere) in Kawhia, NZ on 22 August 1863. This photograph might have been taken on the occasion of Schnackenberg's ordination as a Wesleyan Methodist minister in 1857, and they moved to live at the AhuAhu Mission Station in Kawhia in 1858. The original photograph can be accessed in the Kawhia Regional Museum, Kawhia, New Zealand.
