Le 6 août 1223, à Reims, Louis VIII le Lion et son épouse Blanche de Castille, sont couronnés par l'archevêque Guillaume de Joinville, en présence de Hugues IV, duc de Bourgogne, du comte de Flandre et de l'évêque de Beauvais, qui tiennent respectivement la couronne de la reine, l'épée et la dalmatique du roi ; des prélats et des barons du royaume.

  • The Bishop of Langres, Hugues de Montréal, carries the sceptre.
  • The Bishop of Beauvais, Milon de Nanteuil, carries the royal mantle. (far right)
  • The Count of Toulouse is not visible, but would be carrying the spurs.
  • The Bishop of Châlons is not visible, but would be carrying the royal ring.
  • The Count of Flanders carries the royal sword, the Joyeuse.
