Description
English: Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R, Virginia, 6th) at Virginia Army National Guard Howie Armory (Staunton, VA) during ceremony to present Korean War veteran Tom LaBerge with military awards earned during the war but not presented to the soldier until the 2009 event.[1][2] Goodlatte (left) reads to LaBerge (right) and assembled troops and journalists from a letter of greeting from the US Secretary of Defense.[3] LaBerge holds a certificate from the president of South Korea as well as a case containing military decorations including the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart medal, US National Defense Medal, US Korean War Service Medal with battle-star attachment device, UN Korea Medal, and Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
