English: A 59-foot pedestal is all that remains of a Confederate memorial at James Weldon Johnson Park in Jacksonville, Florida. The statuary portion of the monument was removed in June 2020 and depicted a Confederate soldier. It was donated by Charles C. Hemming in 1898, and the park name was changed from St. James Park to Hemming Park in 1899. The park was renamed again in August 2020 to honor the memory of James Weldon Johnson.
