DescriptionConfederate Battle Flag (draft design).png
English: The official design of the Confederate Battle Flag per General PGT Beauregard's original design and as specified in the official military purchase orders from the sailmaker in New Orleans contracted to produce them.
Pink field, yellow border, and six-pointed stars are correct as per the official CSA Army specifications. Modern popular rectangular version with five-pointed stars and red field without a border appears after the Civil War as the 'Rebel Flag' as part of post-war Confederate romanticism movements and is based on field-produced replacement battle flags fashioned by soldiers from captured Union flags as replacements to their official-issue (pink) battle flags destroyed in combat.
