Summary

Description
English: This chart shows the dramatic simplification of the S-3D engine, via the unillustrated X-1, to the Saturn I's H-1. Among the changes are the elimination of the lubrication system and start fuel tanks, replacement of the electrically control valves, greatly simplified thrust control, and the use of a solid fuel "turbine spinner" to spin the turbo pumps.
