Description
English: Soviet commemorative 3 ruble silver coin (mass: 34.56g, mf: 900, diameter: 39mm, quality: proof) of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
  • Obverse shows the coat of arms of the USSR, the Russian text for "USSR" (СССР), the mass of silver in the coin in grams (31,1), the metallic composition and millesimal fineness of the coin (Ag 900), a signature, the coin's denomination of 3 rubles (3 РУБЛЯ), and mintage year of the coin (1991).
  • Reverse shows the Gagarin monument on Leninsky Avenue in Moscow, text "30 YEARS OF FIRST HUMAN SPACEFLIGHT" in Russian (30 ЛЕТ ПЕРВОГО ПОЛЕТА ЧЕЛОВЕКА КОСМОС), two dates (1961, 1991), and approximately 7 stars in a background representing space.
