Summary

Description
English: This text is from the Lindisfarne Gospels, written down around 700 AD by the monk Eadfrith of Lindisfarne. The text is from Jerome's preface to the New Testament, addressed to Pope Damasus I, and reads: ...reliquorum quę aliis propria sunt inveniantur Cum itaq; canones legeris qui subiecti sunt confussionis errore sublato & similia omnium scies & singulis sua quaeq; restitues, which means: ...of the rest, which are specific to the others, will be found. And so, when you have read the catalogues which are put below, with error from confusion removed, you will both know the [passages] similar for all and the singular ones, whichever you turn to. The smaller interlineations are a word-for-word Old English gloss added by Aldred the Scribe in the late tenth century.
