Wappenbeschreibung


Geviert; 1 und 4: auf Goldgrund der Freisinger Mohr mit roter Krone, rotem Ohrring und roter Halskrause; 2 und 3 auf rotem Grund der goldene geflügelte Markuslöwe mit aufgeschlagenem Buch, darauf die griechischen Großbuchstaben Alpha und Omega, der erste und letzte Buchstabe des griechischen Alphabetes, die in der Offenbarung des Johannes als Selbstaussage Gottes nebeneinander stehen (Offb 1,8).

Hinter dem Schild ein Doppelkreuz als goldenes Vortragskreuz, überhöht von einem roten Kardinalshut mit beidseitig an roten Schnüren herabhängenden, je fünfzehn, 1 : 2 : 3 : 4 : 5 gestellten roten Quasten (fiocchi), unten belegt mit dem Pallium, darunter ein Schriftband mit dem Wahlspruch »UBI SPIRITUS DOMINI IBI LIBERTAS« (2 Kor 3,17).
