Description
English: Small clay idol, or Caloian, from Viziru; etching from an original in the Burada collection; these dolls were used in certain areas of Romania at Easter celebrations (evoking pre-Christian roots), or in other days of the year, to invoke rain (see Burada, pp. 80–84).
