Summary

Description
English: Instrument (long-necked lute) called a cythara from the 9th Century Utrecht Psalter, thought to have been made in Reims. Published in manuscript in the 9th Century. Pertinent Latin text on page reads Confitebor tibi in cithara Deus Deus meus (To thee, O God my God, I will give praise upon the harp); the illustration of cithara shows a guitar/lute-like instrument.
