A Citânia de Santa Luzia, conhecida localmente como "cidade velha", é um dos castros mais conhecidos do Norte de Portugal e, sem dúvida, um dos mais importantes para o estudo da Proto-História e da Romainzação do Alto Minho. A sua localização estratégica permitia-lhe não só dominar vastas áreas da zona litoral ribeirinha, como também controlar o movimento das entradas e saídas na Foz do Lima que, na Antiguidade, seria navegável em grande parte do seu curso.
