Nederlands: De kerk van Midwolde nabij leek.

Onderstaande tekst staat op een bordje naast de kerk.

Kerk en toren gebouwd in de tweede helft van de 12de eeuw, het koor mogelijk in de 13de eeuw. Toren in de 16de eeuw verhoogd. Belangrijke inrichting: preekstoel van Allert Neijer en Jan de Rijk, 1711-1714; avondmaalstafel uit eerste kwart van de 18de eeuw; hoge herenbank met portaal uit 1660. 10 rouwborden voor leden van de geslachten Van Ewsum en Ban In- en kniphuisen. Beroemd grafmonument van Rombout Verhulst, 1665-1669, ter nagedachtenis van Carl Hieronymous van In- en Kniphuisen. Orgel door Levinus Eekman, 1630, omstreeks 1660 door Andreas de Mare vergroot. De aanblik van de kerk wordt vooral uitwendig door de restauratie van 1811-1913 bepaald; inwendig werd toen het houten tongewelf aangebracht. Kerk en toren zijn sinds 1971 eigendom van de Stichting Oude Groninger Kerken.
