Description
English: This child is suffering from malnutrition and has manifested symptoms of the disease Nutritional Rickets. Note the bowed legs and enlarged right wrist. Nutritional Rickets is a condition in which children's bones are too soft, and do not develop properly due to a deficiency of vitamin D.
Deutsch: Dieses Kind leidet unter Mangelernährung und zeigt manifeste Symptome einer Rachitis. Beachte die gebogenen Beine und die aufgetriebenen Handgelenke. Rachitis ist eine Krankheit, bei der Kinder aufgrund eines Vitamin-D-Mangel eine gestörte Knochenentwicklung erleiden.
