Description
English: Charles Pound, a bacteriologist, was the first director of the Queensland Stock Institute in 1890s. He found plague organisms in rats during a plague epidemic in Brisbane in 1900. (Description supplied with photograph)
He was president of the Royal Society of Queensland in 1897.
