Summary

Description
English: Interior of the nest of a small carpenter bee (Ceratina sp.) built in a dry stem of fennel (Foeniculum vulgare). The upper side of the stem is to the left. The nest contains three cells, each cell with pollen bread and one offspring. In the lowermost cell (on the right), the larva has already hatched. The other two cells still contain eggs. Collected in the Judean Foothills, Israel, June 6, 2013.
עברית: פנים הקן של דבורה מהסוג צרטינה שנבנה בתוך גבעול יבש של שומר פשוט. חלקו העליון של הגבעול הוא בצד שמאל. הקן מכיל שלושה תאים, בכל תא לחם דבורים וצאצא אחד. בתא התחתון (מצד ימין) הזחל כבר בקע מן הביצה. בשני התאים האחרים עדיין נראות ביצים. נאסף בשפלת יהודה, 6 ביוני 2013.
