Description
Español: Según las crónicas del periodo colonial el nombre de Yepocapa proviene del kaqchiquel: Yepoq que quiere decir: Castrar y Kap que quiere decir: Miel, ya traducido al español significa: Lugar donde se castra miel o Valle de Miel.

Desde sus inicios esta región a sido el lugar ideal donde las abejas y otros animales con diferentes nombres se hospedaban en los huecos de los árboles y allí producían miel. En esta época era tradicional ir en las bosques de esta región a buscar los nidos de animales que producen la miel.

Actualmente los apicultores se dedican a castrar la miel y es vendido tradicionalmente en cuaresma y semana Santa, aunque la miel es vendible todo el año ya que posee nutrientes curativos.
