Summary

Description

Many urban communities in South Sudan are struggling to cope with an influx of people, lack of services, and high food prices. Oxfam’s food security projects provide cash payments to the poorest families in the town of Malakal, providing a vital lifeline to help them buy staple foods. Recipients of the cash also take part in community clean-up campaigns, gathering and burning waste that can otherwise create a health risk.
