English: The Paramount Theatre was built in 1929 and is located at 420 N. Florence St. The theatre's grand opening was Dec. 23, 1929. The Paramount presented live performances and movies, but could not survive the Great Depression. It closed in the late 1930s, and reopened in 1942. The small-town theater would open and close a number of other times over the years. Today, it is a non-profit theater that hosts mostly live acts. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1999, reference #990001067.
