Carlo Catassi (born April 19 1953 in Livorno, Italy) is an Italian pediatric gastroenterologist, epidemiologist and researcher. He is the Head of the Department of Pediatrics, at the Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona Italy, Visiting Scientist at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston (USA) and 2013-2016 President of the Italian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (SIGENP). He has made major contributions to the understanding of the epidemiology and clinical spectrum of Celiac Disease and other Gluten-Related disorders.
