Summary
DescriptionCarlingford Mechanics' Institute and Memorial Hall honour roll.jpg |
English: The Carlingford Mechanics' Institute and Memorial Hall was constructed in memory of district residents who served in the 1914-1918 War. Fund raising efforts of local citizens combined with loans lead to the laying of the foundation stone in November 1923 and opening in April 1924. Honorary architect for the project was notable Carlingford resident Livingstone Ramsay. The hall, in a bad state of repair, was demolished in 1987 after much public debate.
This composite image shows the honour roll removed from the hall and placed in Carlingford Library (photo taken Oct 2013) and the replacement memorial installed adjacent to the former hall's site on Mobbs Hill, Carlingford (photo taken Oct 2013).
