This is a still life, baroque piece that was created in 1603. It is in the style Chiaroscuro, which is the use of light and dark to create tone in the piece and make objects appear more 3D. It became popular in the Baroque era, but was around in even the 5th century. This technique is often shadow and dark for most of the piece, with a single source of light. As you can see, in this piece it is shadow but a beam of light comes down from the top, in the middle of the piece. This piece shows a still life scene with some fruit . It is mostly in shadow, but has a single source of light coming down in the middle. This is an example of the technique Chiaroscuro. Carvaggio often used this technique in his work. It is in the Baroque style, with dark colours and shadows. It does not have vibrant colours and is quite dull in terms of its colours.
