The drawing:
Gedong Songo complex of temples is located on the hillside of Mountain Ungaran. It has nine temples grouped in five Gedong (lit. complex of temples). Gedong-1 and Gedong-2 are on the eastern side of the hill, Gedong-3 and Gedong-4 to the north side, and Gedong-5 to the west of the hill. This is a historic volcanic region of central Java, and these temples are built from the volcanic rocks cut and carved into reliefs. These are Shiva temples.
This is the floor plan of one of the nine Gedong Songo temples.
The temple's architectural plan follows the square and circle principle found in historic Sanskrit texts.

The relative scale and relative dimensions in this architectural drawing are close to the actual but neither exact nor complete. The plan illustrates the design and layout, but some intricate details or parts of the temple may not be shown. In cases where exact measurements were not feasible, the drawing uses best approximations and rounds the best measurements feasible.
