DescriptionCanal and Motorway, Chadderton, Oldham - geograph.org.uk - 1549.jpg
English: Canal and Motorway, Chadderton, Oldham. For a few hundred metres the M60 Motorway and the Rochdale Canal run side by side. Although separated by only a few metres in space they are separated by about 200 years in time, as this section of the canal (part of Britain's first trans-Pennine canal route) opened in 1799.
