The plaque contains the following text: TRIOKALA 104-99 BC - CALTABELLOTTA 2001 21 centenary of the "slave revolt" During the second servile war slaves of all Sicily gathered in the territory of Triokala choosing this sacred and inaccessible place as the stronghold for the revolt against the colonialism of Rome, writing one of the most sublime pages of human history. To honor and justice to Tryphon and Atenione a Satyr and all the rebellious slaves, the caltabellottesi citizens honors their historical memory.Italiano: Targa commemorativa apposta nel 2001 dalla pro loco a Caltabellotta in memoria del 21 centenario della rivolta degli schiavi.
La targa contiene il seguente testo: TRIOKALA 104-99 a.c. - CALTABELLOTTA 2001 21 centenario della "rivolta degli schiavi" Durante la seconda guerra servile gli schiavi di tutta la Sicilia si concentrarono nel territorio di Triokala e scelsero questo sacro e inaccessibile luogo come roccaforte per la rivolta contro il colonialismo di Roma,scrivendo una delle più sublimi pagine della storia umana. Per rendere omaggio e giustizia a Trifone ad Atenione a Satiro e a tutti gli schiavi ribelli, i cittadini caltabellottesi, onorando la loro memoria storica, posero. |
