Summary

Description Included is the well-known and once very busy Slate Quay. An atypical inset plan with index of the town (bottom right) “drawn in the Reign of Henry the Eighth, in the year 1530, & found in the possession of W.R. Jones, Caernarvon” is in fact an inset plan by John Speed which first appeared in his map of Caernarfonshire of 1610. Here, John Wood's original map of 1834 has been reworked, augmented and published by the printer H. Humphreys of Caernarfon.
