Description

En 1848 se inauguró la línea entre Mataró y Barcelona, cuya construcción se contrató a MacKenzie & Brassey, con 4 Jenny Lind’s (1-1-1) compradas a la firma Jones & Potts Co. de Warrington, y 62 vagones de pasajeros + 2 coches-freno (break-vans) + 30 vagones descubiertos de mercancías, fabricados en la firma Joseph Wright & Sons de Saltley, Birmingham. [a la 1-1-1 los ingleses la llaman ahora Single) Para conmemorar el centenario del inicio de este FFCC. En 1948 La MTM construyó una réplica que es la que se mantiene en funcionamiento. La réplica no es exacta, debido a las penurias de la autarquía, como rueda motriz se instaló la de las Montañas que se construían para Renfe, de 1750mm de diam. en vez del original de 1880mm, además lleva bastantes elementos aunque escondidos o con aspecto antiguo. En 1848 es va inaugurar la línia entre Mataró i Barcelona, la construcció de la qual es va contractar a MacKenzie& Brassey , amb 4 Jenny Lind’s (1-1-1) comprades a la Firma Jones & Potts Co. de Warrington, a més de 62 vagons de passatgers + 2 cotxes-fre (break-vans) + 30 vagons descoberts de mercaderies, fabricats en la firma Joseph Wright & Sons de Saltley, Birmingham.

Per a commemorar el centenari de l'inici d'aquest FFCC. en 1948 La MTM va construir una rèplica que és la qual es manté en funcionament. La rèplica no és exacta, per la manca de peces (i peles) degut a les penúries de l'autarquia, com roda motriu es va instal•lar una de la sèrie 241 de 1750mm de diam. en lloc de les originals de 1880mm, a més duu bastants elements modernitzats encara que amagats o amb aspecte antic. (a les 1-1-1 els anglesos l’anomenen també Single)
