DescriptionByron Statue in Park Lane London 2023 (cropped).jpg
English: This bronze statue shows Byron with his beloved Newfoundland dog, Boatswain. The mottled pink and white marble plinth was given by the Greek Government and installed in 1882. It's a nice monument, but getting close to it is too dangerous, because it means crossing the extremely busy lower part of Park Lane. There used to be a tunnel under the road, but this was closed some years ago. It used to be in the nearby East Carriage Drive in Hyde Park before moved to this inaccessible location. But at least you can see the statue from the pavements on either side of Park Lane. This description was stolen from Tripadvisor site as i am in too much of a hurry this morning to write my own one... Anyway it is another test photo with my new Nikon Z50 camera Happy New Year!
