English: No. VIII. Acacia mimosa; or Acacie bush. Acacia mimosa is described in table of contents as: "A Species of sensitive Plant, the yellow Blossom which it bears, exhales a fine Smell. Its Seeds are contained in a Pod or Ligamen, and when half ripe, is a strong Cement. The main Stem being wounded, produces a transparent Gum." Behind the banch of the acacia is the cankerberry, a thorny plant with berries and white flowers. The cankerberry is described in table of contents as: "Branch of a small evergreen shrub having white aromatic bark, leathery alternate leaves, and small purple to red flowers in terminal cymes."
