DescriptionBuses at TriMet's Rockwood Transit Center in 1988.jpg
Three buses at TriMet's Rockwood Transit Center, on SE 188th Avenue between Stark Street and Burnside Street, in 1988. This on-street transit center, with very basic amenities, opened concurrent with TriMet's first MAX Light Rail line in September 1986. It was eliminated in 2010, as a result of a bus service reorganization. The bus in front is No. 966, a 1982 GM RTS (in service on route 27 Market-Main), while the two buses behind it are 1971 Flxible New Look buses. When the TC opened, its location was in an unincorporated part of Multnomah County, but the area was annexed by the city of Gresham circa 1987 or 1988. This section of SE 188th Avenue no longer exists (as a public, through street), eliminated by a street-realignment project carried out in 2011–12. The building in the lefthand background also no longer exists, but an almost identical building just to the south still stands.
