Summary

Description
English: This image shows the type section of the Burro Canyon Formation in Burro Canyon, just north of Slick Rock, Colorado. The Burro Canyon Formation is a lower Cretaceous formation consisting of sandstone lenses interbedded with green mudstone. Here it overlies the colorful red mudstone beds of the Brushy Basin Member, Morrison Formation. Nearby the Burro Canyon Formation is in turn overlain by sandstone and coal beds of the Dakota Formation.
