English: It depicts USS Philadelphia, previously captured by the Tripolitans, ablaze after she was boarded by Stephen Decatur and 60 men and set afire, making their escape in the ketch Intrepid, depicted in the foreground.
Français : Tableau montrant l'incendie du navire américain l’USS Philadelphia le 16 février 1804 dans le port de Tripoli. Capturé par les tripolitains après son échouage en octobre 1803, il finit incendié par Stephen Decatur et soixante hommes, qui s'échappent dans le ketch l’Intrepid représenté au premier plan.
