For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Mahn- und Gedenkstätte Ravensbrück, Ofen
Zentralbild Zühlsdorf 12.8.1959 Mahn- und Gedenkstätte Buchenwald vor der Vollendung. Die Bauarbeiten an der Mahn- und Gedenkstätte Ravensbrück, die auf dem Gelände des ehemaligen Frauenkonzentrationslagers zur Erinnerung an die 92.000 von der SS ermordeten Frauen und Kinder entsteht, stehen vor dem Abschluß. Am 12. September, dem Tag der Opfer des Faschismus, wird die auf Beschluß der Tausende von Frauen aus dem Bezirken Potsdam und Neubrandenburg sowie Frauendelegationen aus zahlreichen europäischen Staaten werden zu den Einweihungsfeierlichkeiten erwartet.
