For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Illus Schmidtke 26.6.1951 Die ehemalige Staatsoper in Berlin. In seiner alten Schönheit unter Wahrung der Knobelsdorftschen Architektur wird das Gebäude der Staatsoper Unter den Linden so wiederhergestellt, wie es vor den Umbauten unter der Hitler-Diktatur und den Zerstörungen durch den Bombenkrieg bestand. Mit den Arbeiten soll unmittelbar nach den Weltfestspielen der Jugend und Studenten begonnen werden. |
