Summary

Description Starting an aircraft's engine by swinging the propeller was a dangerous procedure which caused many injuries and a few fatalities among ground crew. In this case a Bristol Bulldog is being started up at Point Cook. The risk was reduced by using a mechanical device called the 'Hucks Starter'.
