Summary

Description
English: The Bull's Head Hotel (built 1812) and tram terminus photographed at the turn of the 19th century in Hazel Grove. Behind the trees can be seen the original "Bullock Smithy" Inn said to have been built in 1675 and which gave its name to the village before it changed to "Hazel Grove" in 1836. The site is now Torkington Park and Torkington Road.

This file comes from the Stockport Image Archive, a collection of images from the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport and surrounding areas dating back to the late 1800s. Records consist of archival photographs and sketches from the Council's Local Heritage Library and donations from the local public. The archive does also contain copyrighted images, so care must be taken when transferring images across to Commons.
