Summary

Description
English: Mid-shot of large, mature specimen of Buddleja globosa, seen here in full bloom at the beginning of June and showing a wealth of the attractive globose (pompom) orange flower clusters that have made the species such a popular ornamental shrub for the larger garden. The main trunk has a girth of around 0.6m - quite adequate for a respectable small tree. The plant is growing in a private garden (roughly opposite St. Matthew’s Church) in St. Petersburgh Place, Bayswater, London W2, U.K. On the sunny (if cold for June) day in question, the flower clusters were proving popular with various bee and hoverfly species. A wonderful sight.
