English: this stupa is the the highest and most prominent structure of Mohenjo-daro, and is located atop the citadel mound. The seal inside dates from ca 2500 BCE. The mound is thought to have housed the elite of the early society and to have been a very sacred part of the ancient city. The edifice is not a Buddhist Stupa but rather a Stupa built over the remains of a king as desribed in the Buddhist canon DN 16 PTS: D ii 72, ch. 1-6
